Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM) invites online application for 220 vacancies of Examiner of Patents & Designs under Dept. of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP). Eligibility Criteria for CGPDTM Recruitment 2018
Educational Qualification
Subject / Discipline – Essential qualification
Biochemistry – Master’s Degree in Biochemistry
Chemistry – Master’s Degree in Chemistry
Polymer Science – Master’s Degree in Polymer Science or Bachelor Degree in Polymer Engineering /Technology
Electrical Engineering       - Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
Bio-Medical Engineering – Bachelor Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering / Technology
Computer Science / Information Technology – Master Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science/Information Technology Electronics & Communication – Bachelor Degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering / Technology
Metallurgical Engineering – Bachelor Degree in Metallurgical Engineering / Technology
Age Limit         
1. A candidate must have attained the age of not less than 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years.
2. The upper age limit of 35 years will be relaxable upto 40 years in the case of government servants in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.
Application Fee
1. Candidates belonging to General/OBC category:  200 Rupees.
2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community are exempted
Selection Procedure
The Examination shall be held in two Phases, i.e. Preliminary Examination & Mains Examination

Candidates around 12-15 times of the number of vacancies i.e. 220 nos., shall be shortlisted for appearing in the Mains examination based on Pre Exam.
The evaluation for the paper I in the Mains examination will be done only for those candidates who qualify in the paper II of Mains examination which is qualifying in nature.
The final merit list shall be prepared based on the scores obtained by the candidates out of 300 marks in the Mains examination

OMR (Optical Mark Reader) based Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) Paper
This paper will be of 2 hours duration with 150 Questions of 1 Mark each, totalling to a maximum of 150 marks comprising 30 questions each on
General English
General Science
Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning
Quantitative Aptitude
General Knowledge & Current Affairs
Mains Examination
Mains Exam Paper I
It will be a descriptive Question Paper of the concerned Discipline/Subject opted by the candidate.
The candidate will be provided with Answer Booklet with sufficient pages to answer all questions.
This exam will be a Scoring Examination.
Mains Exam Paper II
It will be an English Proficiency Question Paper.
This test tests the English Writing, Power of Expression & Report Writing Skills/Ability of the candidates including Comprehension, Short Essay, Usage & Vocabulary, Report Writing and Precis Writing.
